As with last year's edition, the RSSU Cup, Moscow Open 2015 will include two unusual tournaments. The first of which is a chess biathlon (chess + shogi), the second pure shogi.
The biathlon will be held Jan 31 to Feb 1 and will mark the third inclusion of the event. Last year saw twelve participants, including representatives from Ukraine and Germany. The winner was Boris Mirnik (Germany).
The second tournament – the Japanese version of chess, shogi – is already a familiar sight in Moscow owing to its yearly inclusion in the Moscow Open since 2004.
