Round 3 Report. Through One Third the Distance for Main Tournaments of the RSSU Moscow Open Cup

The participants of the open tournaments of the Moscow Open have overcome one third of distance and the struggle is just started here. Nine athletes managed to stay unbeaten after three rounds in the Men’s Cup of Russia stage competitions. These are Russian Boris Grachev, Alexei Iljushin, Ernesto Inarkiev, Vladimir Zakhartsov and Vladimir Fedoseev, Ukrainian Anton Korobov, Chinese Xiu Deshun and brothers Maksat and Yusup Atabyev from Turkmenistan.

31 participants have 2.5 points at once.

Seven chess players are leading in the Women’s Cup of Russia stage tournament. Lei Tingjie (China), Bayarjargal Bayarmaa (Mongolia), Guliskhan Nakhbayeva (Kazakhstan) and Russian Aleksandra Goryachkina, Tatiana Khlichkova and Elmira Mirzoeva have 3 points.

11 female players scored 2.5 points.

Samvel Ter-Sahakyan (Armenia) and Irene Kharisma Sukandar (Indonesia) are continuing to win in the Men’s and Women’s Student Grandmaster Tournaments. Each of them has three victories.

Russian Daniil Dubov and Daniel Sadzikowski from Poland rival the Armenian chess player in the Men’s Tournament. They’ve managed to gain 2 points each.

Alina Kashlinskaya (Russia), Gunay Mammadzada (Azerbaijan) and Dinara Saduakassova (Kazakhstan) are chasing the leader in the Women’s Tournament.

Nine chess players have 3 points in the Veterans’ Tournament, the main claimants to win are among them. They are Evgeny Sveshnikov (Latvia), Galina Strutinskaia and Evgenij Kalegin from Russia.
17 chess players have 3 points after three rounds in the Amateurs’ Cup – Tournament C.

The games of the fourth round will be held on Tuesday, February 3. The games will start at 4:00pm Moscow time.
